Google+ A refreshing new alternative.

Google+ LoginApps – Finally back after a Month Vacation, I feel rested and ready to supply some more fantastic Open Source Tips and Tricks. Before I get into to that I want to promote the new Google+ Launch.

Let me start off by showing the Login Screen:

If you already don’t have a Google+ account this is the screen you will get. Simply click the sign in button and login with your Google account and you should get a message saying Google+ is invite only. No worries if you comment with your Gmail Address I will go ahead and send you an invite.

Some notiable sections of Google+:

Google Plus Headings

Circles: A great new way to share only specific information with certain groups of people. Avoid the one post is visible to all approach that Facebook has.

Hangouts: Hangouts are pretty awesome, launch the hangout and you can video chat with up to 10 people in your circle, I have tried this and it works. In addition to hang outs there are huddles on the mobile verison which is like a group IM and of course GTalk still works in Google+

Sparks: Its like having a new reader built right in, something that I felt Facebook has been lacking for a very long time.

Notice I am in the beta testers group and if my invite does not come right away you can be sure it is right around the corner as Google opens up the platform to more users.

In the meantime I am going to start adding +1′s to the posts and keep you updated with any developer information as I heard they are sorting through the API to make it developer worthy.

What are your thoughts? Google+ a Facebook killer or a good alternative?
