There have been many rumors floating around and one of them happens to be about Android 3.0 Gingerbread is going to be released this fall. I have searched high and low to find confirmation of this rumor to be true and have yet to find a reliable source only speculation.
Here is some of the speculation that is floating around the net.
- Android 3.0 is going to be tailored to higher end devices such as the Droid X, Evo and Droid Incredible. "the OS will require a minimum of 1GHz and 512MB of RAM." I find this hard to believe, why deny the 100's of other phones a chance at greatness and leave it for the current big three.
- A new 1280×760 resolution will be available for devices (such as the Droid X and EVO) with displays of 4” and larger. This makes sense, take advantage of the hardware.
- The user interface is getting a complete overhaul, with the final product being comparable to the Gallery App on Nexus One. Animations will be light and smooth. - I will be interested to see what the new if any interface design Gingerbread will bring to the table.
- Gingerbread will be released in mid- October (around 15 -16th), 2010. The first Gingerbread-running handsets would start shipping during the holiday season. - I do not see this happening but I have seen stranger things happen.
What do you think on the latest rumors circulating Android 3.0 Gingerbread, is there any truth?
With all that being said lets live in the present and talk about a cool feature being implemented in Google Chrome and Android 2.2 Froyo called Chrome to Phone.

Chrome to Phone does just what it sounds like. If you download an extension into Chrome, a single click can send your current browser, maps, directions, links, etc. to your phone. If you're browsing at home, and you have to run to a meeting, just clicking one button will send everything to your Android phone provided it has version 2.2 or newer on it. It can even send YouTube videos and phone numbers. Now thats some integration.
I could see in the future that Android Users maybe making the switch to Google Chrome just for this amazing feature.
