After my EVO 4G ran out of space I got really frustrated that I could not uninstall the bloatware that came with the phone. So I decided ok I am going to Root my phone which I did and began to remove some of the bloatware but to my surprise that broke some of the phones functionality. I decided to install a custom ROM and this is my experience.
Linux is like Baskin-Robins, So many flavors to choose from. I figured I would compile a list of the 10 most popular distributions with some advantages and disadvantages with each. If your undecided on which distribution is right for you this list may help.
Linux – I have been a Linux user since 1993 where I picked up a copy of Slakware and configured it to be a gateway router PC over my 28.8k bps modem. Back in those days you actually had to compile source and things did not always work out as planned. Today is a whole new ball game for Linux and with so many distributions how do you know which one to go with. With such a long list I have choosen 2 of the more popular distro’s, Fedora and Ubuntu.
Recently I have been reading some of my favorite Ubuntu Tech Blogs and I noticed that the Unity Celebration has calmed down and there is a lot about GNOME-SHELL.
